Wiki Page: How to copy components from one project to another using OPMS

Applies To Product(s): OpenPlant ModelServer Version(s): 08.11.09.XXX Environment: Windows 7 64 bit Area: Projectwise Subarea: Original Author: Harpreet Singh, Bentley Technical Support Group Background This article will explain how can we copy the components from one OPMS repository to another repository and check in the components. Steps to Accomplish Open the OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Model_Server schema in class editor. Set 'Auto ReferenceOut on Server Connect' to false on root classes like UNIT, SERVICE. Note: This step is required so that the DGN file doesn't contain any referenced out root instance when connected to OPMS repository from where the components have to be copied. Save the schema changes. Create a new DGN file and open it. Go to Workspace>Configuration and add configuration variable as shown below and set the value to 'true' Once the variable is added, reference out the components which have to be copied to other repository. Components will be placed in the DGN file as NEW. Close the DGN file and copy it over to the other project where they have to be copied. Open the file and check in the components. Once the replication process is completed, the variable added in the step 5 can be removed. Comments or Corrections? Bentley's Technical Support Group requests that you please confine any comments you have on this Wiki entry to this "Comments or Corrections?" section. THANK YOU!
