Hi, I am "hijacking" the functionality in the ProjectWise Class Editor, using custom database views to create new classes and forming hierarchical searches in the Components tree. I am relating Project folders to the security, so that a user can see at a glance what group or user list they are a member of, what groups are members of which user lists, etc. and then I will be linking that to documents, so they can actually see in the component tree what documents are available for edit. meaning the users only have to know what project they are working on and their own name (that may be a step too far I do realize) then they can see what they can edit, view, change state on, etc. I am running into some inconsistencies with the searches though, first by adding the criteria to a "where" clause to test the view I get the results I expect, when adding the same attributes and filtering in the searches I get restricted results, normally the first item with a set of matching criteria, but not subsequent ones. I am also finding the each user list or group must have a member in order to show up in the class editor search and component tree, whereas the database view (with the where clause) is showing the groups and user lists that exist with matching criteria, regardless of whether they have members or not. Does anyone know of any constraints in place within the Class Editor in how it searches the database that may be causing these restrictions? I can get around them with workarounds, but they look untidy. Any help would be appreciated. I am not using Open Plant by the way. Any more information required please contact me. Regards, Paul
