Windows 7 Enterprise AutoCAD 2012 x64 AutoPLANT V8i SS4 x64 Hi Everyone, I am experimenting with moving specs from MDB to storing them in a central SQL db instead. So far so good, with only one minor issue. If a spec is updated via SpecGen, and the changes are synced to SQL via Project Administrator, all users currently in the project will begin to receive .NET errors from component preferences until AutoPLANT is restarted. I don't consider this a deal-breaker, but I had hoped it could handle live updates to the spec. If it cannot, it would be nice if the user was presented with a message explaining that the project's specs have been updated and a reload of AutoPLANT is required, as opposed to crashes that will cause panic! Here are the steps to repeat the error: Set up a project with specs stored in an external SQL database in Project Administrator. Follow prompts to import the current MDB specs into the SQL database specified. In my case, this was an external SQL DB, not the project DB After the import is complete, launch a model and place some pipe and fittings to be sure the SQL specs are working correctly. With the model still open, launch specgen and make a change to the spec, adding some fittings etc. from the catalog. Build the spec In Project Administrator, synchronize the specs into the SQL DB In the model, try to adjust component preferences to place one of the new components in the spec from steps 3 and 4. Notice the errors and crashes from component preferences.
