Forum Post: RE: OPSE Deployment with ProjectWise integration [OPSE v08.11.09.135]

I have followed the steps outlined in the help files and now I have a few questions about how OPSE works with ProjectWise compared to other Bentley products. We mainly use Microstation and BRCM with ProjectWise and both of those products by default expect a managed workspace in PW and then any number of projects to contain the design files or other project related documents. In our setup, the managed workspaces for all projects are contained in the Administration folder. The OpenPlant Project Administrator is much different. When I create OpenPlant projects in PW the OpenPlant Administrator creates the workspace and then it creates the projects inside that workspace. With Microstation we create the project in PW and then associate the project with whatever managed workspace is available in PW. This has allowed us to fully encapsulate projects in a single ProjectWise project folder. If we continue with the way OpenPlant Project Administrator is creating projects then we will have multiple ProjectWise project folders per project instead of one. I can heavily modify the configuration settings that the OpenPlant Project Administrator creates but I think there must be a better way. I would like to have all OPSE projects work off of a single Metric or Imperial managed workspace and have all project specific documents stored in our existing projects. As I said I think I can accomplish this by modifying the CSBs after the projects have been added to PW but if there is a better way I would like to know. Thanks.
