Applies To Product(s): OpenPlant Modeler Version(s): 08.11.09.XXX Environment: Windows 7/8 (64 bit) Area: Component Subarea: Original Author: Harpreet Singh, Bentley Technical Support Group Background In OpenPlant Modeler, while placing components if software encounters more than one entry in spec based on the criteria defined for query in standard preferences it shows below dialog where user can select the required component. Now if user changes the order of columns as per his requirement and close the modeler and re-launch it. The order of the columns will again revert back to the original order. It happens because the order of the columns is defined in the schemas and it doesn't override the changes done by user in last modeling session. This article will explain how and where the order of the properties can be set. Steps to Accomplish Launch class editor and load OpenPlant_3D schema from your project dataset. Supplement it with OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling & OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_ModelingViews schemas. Go to PIPING_COMPONENT class and select the property you wish to change. Let's modify DESCRIPTION and NOMINAL DIAMETER properties for example. Select DESCRIPTION property from the properties tab. Change the Spec Grid Position field in Property Display Status custom attribute. Please note that if position is set to 4, then it will be the third column in the grid. Make sure that no other property in this class is set to position 4. Similarly change the Spec Grid Position in NOMINAL_DIAMETER property. Save the changes in class editor. Launch OPM again and verify the results. NOTE: If you see different result from what is defined in the schema, then you will need to delete the highlighted folder (Name of project) from C:\Users\%USER_NAME%\AppData\Roaming\Bentley\OpenPlantModeler\8.11 Once OpenPlant Modeler is opened with the same project, this folder will be created once again.
