What is New in OpenPlant PID V8 i (SELECTseries 5) V08.11.10 What is New? The Bentley OpenPlant PID V8 i (SELECTseries 5) release is the latest release of our newest Intelligent P&ID Solution. OpenPlant PID is an Open and interoperable P&ID product based on ISO 15926 that allows any application using the open schema to natively share data. OpenPlant PID is a productive and easy to use application for production of P&IDs allowing users to capture and reuse information in an open format. It reduces the time required for design and documentation of facilities and captures process information for system design, plant studies and HAZOP studies across the lifecycle of the asset. Key Features of Bentley OpenPlant PID V8 i (SELECTseries 5) Easy to Use Drafting Features Advanced Drafting Features such as Parametric Equipment and Assembly Management Support for Specification Driven P&IDs Consistency Checking and Component Validation Design History feature to allow users to save versions or revisions of documents and compare them or roll-back if necessary. Reports viewable as CAD reports, a grid view in the application, or in Crystal Reports Item Browser for full access to all data and relationships in the drawing Integrated Class Editor for schema modifications/additions. Added Spec Generator. New Features of OpenPlant PID V8 i (SELECTseries 5) OpenPlant PID Ss5 R5 08.11.10.631 Design History is enabled Instruments inherit associated item values from directly/indirectly connected pipelines. The order of drawing instrument line is important. Pipe run has instrument: start at parametric instrument; end at pipe run Instrument has input: start at parametric instrument; end at input instrument Ability to drag an actuator to change origin or direction Updated database differencing dialog interface Ability to force user to always use database differencing dialog To-From data populated for pipe run to pipe run connections Ability to change text style in schema and update existing component annotations OpenPlant PID Ss5 R4 08.11.10.523 Database updates: Data differencing dialog is optionally displayed, when synchronizing to/from the database PROJ_STAT field in the database indicates when a tag has been deleted, reused, or renamed ProjectWise: on successful drawing to database synchronization, PW drawing copy is updated OpenPlant Project Administrator: Introducing OpenPlant Project Administrator, a complementary product that allows users to automate the simple configuration and project setup tasks. OpenPlant Project Administrator allows user to create ProjectWise managed and local / network projects in just a couple of clicks. Here is a complete feature list: Project Creation / Setup: ProjectWise managed project via default template projects ProjectWise managed project via user projects Local or shared network project via default template project Local or shared network project via user project Import existing managed projects Rename Configuration Setting Blocks (CSBs) Reuse / link existing Configuration Setting Blocks(CSBs) Project Setup: Edit project configuration via intuitive UI Setup Associations and work breakdown structure WBSor Configure how properties are grouped and displayed in property grids OpenPlant Project Administrator can be dowloaded from http://selectservices.bentley.com/>SELECTservices Online Component right-click Context Menu options have been added for selection of parent, pipeline, instrument loop, and/or assembly Manually placed annotation will use the schema defined Element Template for the property, if it exists Page Connector validation added to ensure matched connector name has not changed Placement of a control valve actuator has changed. An optional actuator origin prompt, along with rotation prompt, have been added Ability to clear the value of a numeric property Automatic cell conformance tool and mapping editor Ability to place a spec break at the end of a pipe run Ability to drag an angle or 3 way data change component Software updates, technotes, and tips and tricks will be posted via new OpenPlant PID RSS feed Project Administration: Database Audit tool delivered with product Analyze database mapping tool added Component search tool for drawing added OpenPlant PID Ss5 R3 08.11.10.427 Ability to use Fence Stretch to stretch pipe runs and instrument lines Drag Enhancements: Drag nozzle auto-routes connected pipe run Drag end run, such as page connector, auto-routes connected pipe run Drag instrument bubble auto-routes connected instrument line Drag control valve/flow element/PSV/PRV will auto-route instrument line connecting to annotation bubble Drag main pipe run segment auto-routes connected branch pipe run(s) Added sequence number to page connector Ability to use page connector for instrument lines Support of user components, joined components, and non-intelligent graphics in assemblies and clipboard Option to create new pipeline when inserting data change component, such as reducer In run components inherit associated items values (plant area, service, unit, system) from pipe run Split Drawing can be done by In original drawing: Select desired components "Cut to Clipboard" Sync drawing to database, to remove relationships In destination drawing: "Paste from Component Clipboard" Sync drawing to database, to add relationships Merge Drawings can be done by using either of the following: To prompt for location: Use the same method as Split Drawing To not prompt for location, i.e. insert using original locations of components: In original drawing: Export->Drawing Select all and Delete Sync drawing to database, to remove relationships In destination drawing: Import->Drawing Sync drawing to database, to add relationships OpenPlant PID Ss5 R2 08.11.10.314 Option to have database sync on file close OpenPlant PID Ss5 R1 08.11.10.202 Performance enhancements. No new features OpenPlant PID Ss5 08.11.10.38 Ability to convert AutoPlant PID to OpenPlant PID Ability to work in a Multi-Project Database Ability to move or copy valves and flow elements and have the target pipe run break Ability to move or copy reducers and have the target pipe run split Ability to miror and/or rotate assembly during placement Improved mirroring options on component placement Added System associated item class Optional validation checking for 3 and 4 way components Optional disabling of database synchronization modes, such as Instant Ss4 Support: Ss5 supports side by side install with Ss4 Please refer to BE Community site for How to open a DGN created in SS4 in SS5 details.
