Might try checking the project's config.ini...
from AutoPLANT readme:
Legacy projects that access catalogs and spec in the Program Files folder will need the following line modifying in Config.ini.
Root_Specs_Dir = %NETWORK_ROOT%\specs\imperial
Changed to,
Root_Specs_Dir = %LOCAL_ROOT%\specs\imperial

When I remove the Topworks, the ISO is generated... Still searching. The strange thing is, a complete new environment created with V8i (so not updated) had only problems with the topworks like actuators.
About the other problem (I know this is not the thread I should discusse this, but probably, the problem is in some reference to the 'old' win32 XM version. Now V8i has Program files (X86) and ProgramData etc.
Because when Ik create a new proj. from sample MMetric and use the spec, the items are back in. Config ini was noting wrong, but probably some where else, also still haven't figured out where.
Think I gonna create new project environments and import my 3D dwg, see if that works.

Prashant we have moved the equipment via microstaion commands and this has caused us problems. We will start to move the equipment only by its grips to see if this overcomes our problem.
The tagging schema we are using has only had one modification relating to the orientation of the line line. This was modified under the guidance of a bentley representative. I would think that this should not effect the equipment.

I had also tried with SS4 and I have EXACTLY the same issue.
The only combination that worked was with SS2. But that doesn't satisfy me.

I know in previous versions there have been issues with users who have installed and uninstalled Autodesk products on their machines in the past. Sometimes noise is left in the registry that kills AutoPLANT installations. You can check the registry keys located at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD
See if there are any entries for products you no longer have installed. There is an article with a bit more detail here.

That was the last commercial release. Prashant is referring to subsequent builds provided to resolve specific issues on user sites. Log a ticket with TSG they can give you more details.

I haven't (nor am I planning to) try this. I'd be especially skeptical if there is any update to the access engine provided with office. If you do decide to go forward, do lots of testing especially on database functions and reporting before pushing it out to users.
Personally, I'm all about the supported versions :)

Hello,
I am new to this after a few years an I am being reacquainted to AutoPLANT. I am looking to add our company titleblock to the Generated spool.
I thought that this could be done by pasting the titleblock to final.dwg and then rerunning Isogen. When I opened the iso there was no titleblock.
Does anyone have a easy fix?

This can be done by defining the ‘Drawing frame” with required company name, border, stamp etc’. This drawing frame would be used for Iso drawings you are generating. The path to the customized drawing frame can be given in Project Administrator as follows:
Root>Project>Isogen>Inputs>Drawing Frame (there is a separate browse-able row for it)
In order to suppress the default Drawing Frame and titleblock you need to use switch 18 and 25 respectively.
This can be done by using the edit button next to Root>Project>Isogen>Inputs>Options and finding the required switches by Tools>’Find option switch’ in the subsequent Options editor.
Make sure to check suppress the default title block and Drawing Frame.
Hope it helps and you have a great time using Bentley software.

Soooo...
Using process monitor from sysinternals I've watched registry and files access, from starting of setup until the error was given. There's no ACCESS DENIED, only some NOT FOUND for files and the relevant ones are near the end of the log, generated by msiexec.exe trying to open some temporary files from c:\windows\installer.
Those might be some libs the setup unpacks there for calling. Obviously they not there or have other names.
The log generated from setup states that a function from a lib (some .tmp) could not be opened.
These tests were made with Autocad2012 and AutoPLANT SS4, Autocad2010 and AutoPLANT SS3. The results are nearly identical.
I made a virtual machine (VirtualBox) with each setup, starting with vanilla xp sp3.
I'm facing a dead end. Can someone resurrect it?

The title of your post and the content do not match. I will try to answer both queries.
Firstly, location of isometric drawing is concerned you can most probably find them here (for a default instalaltion) C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Plant V8i\xchg\pcf
ProgramData folder might be hidden so set folder options to show hidden folders first.

If you are using Open Plant Modeler, can you describe your Multi Office Collaboration instrastructure and experience?
I'm looking to see how your latency is between your local offices and your PW datasource, how are your OPM query times and check outs, is it working for you, etc...
We are just getting into the OPM side, and my experience is PlantSpace based...so a little different.

Shalender Singh, thanks for your solution - it's working. But i can't take screenshot, because this error had dissapeared. Reason was an installing the ss4, then removed ss4 and installing ss3.
