Other components display the component length correctly. In the AutoPLANT Piping database, component lengths for fixed length components are stored in the COMP_LEN field of the PIPING table. However, for a variable length components such as PIPE, the value is stored in the CUT_LENGTHS field. This field is not available by default in Bentley Imodel Composer. The confusion is the result of the COMP_LEN field just being named "Lengths" in Bentley Imodel Composer. A defect has been logged to add Piping lengths to the imodel by default. However, this can also be addressed by customizing the AutoPLANT PDW schema used in the Bentley Imodel Compser workspace to pull the CUT_LENGTHS field. TR #329844 Solution 1. Go to the desktop menu: Start All Programs Bentley Bentley i-model Composer V8i (SELECTseries 3) Administrative Tools Bentley Class Editor V8i. 2. In the Class Editor, load the schema file: C:\ProgramData\Bentley\imodelComposer V8i\WorkSpace\ECSchemas\Plant\AutoPlant\AutoPLANTPDWPersistenceStrategySchema.01.00.ecschema.xml 3. In the left pane tree, go to AutoPlantPDWPersistenceStrategySchema\Classes\Component\Piping Component 4. In the right pane, select Add New... 5. Change the name of the new property to CUT_LENGTHS. All other information should be correct by default. 6. Save the schema and exit Class Editor. 7. Open the model in Bentley i-model Composer again and re-publish. The CUT_LENGTHS field should now be viewable and can be exported to Microsoft Excel using the ODBC driver for i-models.
