Wiki Page: How to add custom associated items as root nodes in the Item Browser

      Applies To        Product(s): Bentley OpenPlant Modeler   Version(s): 08.11.09.383   Environment:  N/A   Area:  Schema   Subarea:    Original Author: Justinas Lipnickas, Bentley Technical Support Group                     If user would create a custom Associated Item for the Pipelines / Equipment components, it is convenient if they can see them as a root node in the Item Browser. Steps to Accomplish To add your new associated items as root nodes in the Item Browser, you have to add the ModelServer Class Map custom attribute for the classes. Easiest way to do so would be to copy the custom attribute from some other Association, lets say SERVICE, to the classes you want to have as Root nodes in the Item Browser. To do so please use these steps: Open Class Editor and OpenPlant_3D schema in it; Supplement it with Supplemental_Model_Server schema; Browse to SERVICE Class, see the ModelServer Class Attribute it has on it; Right click on the class name in the tree, select Custom Attributes - Copy..., select the custom attribute and copy it; Go to the class you will be adding to the Browser, paste the custom attribute to it (); Update any of the properties in the custom attribute if you need. Make sure that "Set As Root Node" is set to true for displaying in Item Browser. See the attached screenshot for additional info on the custom attribute to be used
