It is recommended to uninstall SS4 completely before installing AutoPlant SS5.

Software Upgrades – v8.5, v8.6, XM
The installation of the AutoPLANT V8i (SELECTseries 5) does not upgrade pre-V8i versions of AutoPLANT (such as v8.5, v8.6 and the XM Edition).
Anyone wanting to upgrade from a pre-V8i version of AutoPLANT to V8i (SELECTseries 5) should remove the pre- V8i versions first.
Although AutoPLANT V8i (SELECTseries 5) is installed into a separate folder from pre-V8i versions of AutoPLANT (such as v8.5, v8.6 and the XM Edition), it cannot be run in parallel with the pre-V8i versions as the supported versions of AutoCAD and MS Office are no longer consistent.
Software Upgrades – V8i, V8i (SELECTseries 1), (SELECTseries 2), (SELECTseries 3) & (SELECTseries 4)
Multiple versions of AutoPLANT V8i cannot be installed on the same machine.
Installing AutoPLANT V8i (SELECTseries 5) over V8i, V8i (SELECTseries 1), V8i (SELECTseries 2), V8i (SELECTseries 3) or V8i (SELECTseries 4) will overwrite the previously installed files.
See Known Issues section of this ReadMe regarding the new spec location. Existing AutoPLANT specs should be moved to the new location before an upgrade to AutoPLANT V8i (SELECTseries 5) is carried out.
Note: This is applicable when installing AutoPLANT V8i (SELECTseries 5) over V8i, V8i (SELECTseries 1), V8i (SELECTseries 2) or V8i (SELECTseries 3) versions.
Note: This is not applicable when installing AutoPLANT V8i (SELECTseries 5) over V8i (SELECTseries 4).
Recommended method:
It is recommended to completely uninstall existing AutoPLANT V8i applications before installing AutoPLANT V8i (SELECTseries 5). Please make sure that the below mentioned folders are clean (if exists).
