Wiki Page: To Obtain Bend Angle in reports, Query by Piping Components

Applies To Product(s): OpenPlant Reporting Version(s): 08.11.09.564 Environment: Windows 7 (64 bit) Area: - Subarea: - Original Author: Rahul Kumar, Bentley Product Advantage Group Overview To include as common properties in BOM reports for Bend Point Angle. Problem Description In a model if there are few bends available for a pipeline which exhibit a property ANGLE (Bend Point Angle) & while generating a report based on BOM_By_Pipeline, where it has been queried by Piping Component, there are no information in report for the said property. User requirement is to furnish the same information in DGN reports. Since the property has been defined under PIPE_BEND class & not present under PIPING_COMPONENT Class, hence it does not show up in the report. Also if user modifies the reports based on multiple class selection using “Multiple Types of Items” option, then it will only show common properties in the list. To publish the information, user need to copy the desired property from its available class and paste it to PIPING_COMPONENT class. Below are the steps to check in details. Steps to Resolve In Class Editor, Open “OpenPlant_3D.01.06.ecschema” & supplement it with below schemas. OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.06.ecschema OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_ModelingViews.01.06.ecschema OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Isometrics_Isoextractor.01.06.ecschema Navigate to PIPE_BEND class. Under properties tab, check ANGLE property and do a right click to copy that property. See image below. Navigate to PIPING_COMPONENT class, under Property tab, do Ctrl+v to paste the copied property ANGLE. See image below. Save & close Schema. Launch OpenPlant Modeler and select project, say “OPModeler_Imperial” here. From Main Menu, go to “OpenPlant Modeler”->”Tools”->”Item Reports”. See image below. From Piping>Piping Component, select BOM type BOM by Line Number & Open As Grid. See image below. Right click on generated report column and click on “Show Column” -> “More’. See image below. Check for Properties “Bend Angle Point”, Check “ON’ and click OK. See image below. See reports below with Bend Point Angle information for Bends. User can also save the report types for future references. Also refer similar links to saving report types under “See Also” section. See Also Still a Problem? If above problem still persist, then please create a Service Request and contact the Bentley Product Advantage group. Please include a list of all relevant details to get in depth analysis for a solution or workaround. Comments or Corrections?
