Applies To Product(s): OpenPlant Isometrics Manager Version(s): 08.11.09.470 & Above Environment: Windows 7 (64 bit) Area: Settings/Attributes Subarea: Original Author: Rahul Kumar, Bentley Technical Support Group To Assign FieldFit Weld Allowances for BOM CutList in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. Background In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, Field Fit weld allowances has been needed in BOM cut list report to allow extra length of pipe to order which can be further trimmed for end preparation at site. However assigning extra length will not show up in DWG dimension, but it will report in BOM for ordering the extra length. This could be realized using both AutoPLANT Modeler and OpenPlant Modeler user with OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. Check below steps described for both ways. Steps to Accomplish A. Using AutoPLANT Modeler & OpenPlant Isometrics Manager Launch AutoPLANT Modeler and select working project. Place a pipeline and fittings where welds can be generated. Double click on weld to change the weld type to “Field Fit Weld”. See image below. Click “OK”. Open Project Administrator and click on “Create/Modify” option. This will launch Isometrics “Isometric Configuration” dialog box. From Advanced option, click on “Explore Style” option. Note - From working project navigate to style.cfg file. See below default path for reference C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Plant V8i\Bentley Plant V8i Projects\SAMPLE_METRIC\Config\OpenPlant \Isometrics \styles\IFC\config\style.cfg Open “ Style.cfg ” File and remove “ # ” from variable WA_FIELD_FIT and enter allowances as desired. See image below. Note- User may write “6” or “150” for length as it will apply a factor of 25 if value less than 20. Save & Close file. Generate Isometrics and verify results. User can notice the Dimension appears on pipe is the true length and length shown in BOM and Cut list report is sum of true length and allowances set in style.txt file. B. Using OpenPlant Modeler & OpenPlant Isometrics Manager Launch OpenPlant Modeler, Select Project Unit. Place a Pipe and fittings. Go to generate weld. Right click on weld and select Modify “Component” option. From “ Operating Conditions ” tab, enter data to Excess length and select “ Type ” as “ Field Fit ”. Create Isosheet and publish I dgn to generate isometrics. Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. Generate Isometrics and verify results. See below results for CUT LIST report and BOM report. Note- No need to update Style.cfg file in case of OpenPlant Modeler. See Also Comments or Corrections?
