Applies To Product(s): OpenPlant ModelServer Version(s): V8i SS2 Environment: N/A Area: N/A Subarea: N/A Original Author: Jesse Wolfe, Bentley Technical Support Group Overview In order for ProjectWise to communicate with the Database, an ODBC connection is required. This is a standard Windows function and for 32-bit servers you can use the version located in Control Panel>Administrator Tools. However, for 64-bit servers OpenPlant will require a 32-bit ODBC connection. The 32-bit ODBC Data Source Administrator is located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 on 64-bit Windows 2008 Server. Here are the steps for creating an ODBC connection for use with OpenPlant: 1. Launch the ODBC Data Source Administrator. 2. Select the System DSN tab and Add a new connection. 3. Scroll down to the SQL Server driver, select it, and press Finish. 4. Name the Datasource and select the Server the Database exists on. Press Next 5. Choose the Database intended for your OpenPlant project and press next using the options as shown below: 6. Use the options shown below and press Finish. 7. Test the Datasource and once successful exit Data Source Administrator.
