Wiki Page: To Display New Property in Description Field For BOM in OpenPlant Isometrics Manager

Applies To Product(s): OpenPlant Isometrics Manager Version(s): 08.11.09.XXX Environment: Windows 7 64 bit Area: Settings/Attributes Subarea: - Original Author: Rahul Kumar, Bentley Technical Support Group Overview In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, user requirement is to add a new property information inside Description of a component. Problem Description In OpenPlant Isometrics Manager, using OpenPlant Modeler, user wanted to add a new property for reporting in bill of material through defining it report.def file and also to concatenate this property to Description field. Below steps shows how to get the property information in report. Steps to Resolve This could be done in Three Major steps: To Define a New Property in Schema To Include New Property in Catalog To Define the Attribute in Report.def file. To Define a New Property in Schema In class editor, open ‘OpenPlant_3D.01.04.ecschema.xml’ & supplement it with ‘OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.04.ecschema.xml’ Schema. Expand and navigate to PIPE class. Add a new Property say L_FIN to PIPE Class, using Add button. On New property L_FIN add custom attribute ‘OpenPlant_Physical_Property_Map’ to it. An easiest way to add above mentioned custom attribute is to copy-paste it from existing property, say SCHEDULE here. Select existing property, say Schedule, and copy custom attribute. See image below. On new property L_FIN, paste the copied custom attribute. See image below. Save & exit from Class editor. To Include New Property in Catalog Launch Specification Generator. Select project Unit. Open catalog editor. Select desired catalog and click on Open. Select PIPE class to enter new field created. Click on ‘Edit Catalog Schema’. See image below. Select Table ‘PIPE’ and under Fields option, add a new field L_FIN to enable it to appear in existing catalog. Click on Ok and Select Table as PIPE. Enter the value L_FIN, say PUT here for DN100 size. Close catalog editor. Note: Also save spec which includes this catalog. It might show a message to save the modified catalog with connected spec. See message shown in image below. Launch OpenPlant Modeler and create a pipeline with desired input. Publish an i-model. To define the attribute in Report.def file. Launch OpenPlant Isometrics Manager. Open Configuration dialog. Under Advanced node, click on report definition file. Enter the attribute L_FIN in report. Also Concatenate two attribute ‘L_FIN’ and IE_DESCRIPT Save and close file . Generate an isometric and verify results.
