The System Doctor collects and displays a user's system configuration information. Support technicians require specific information about a user's computer when they are troubleshooting AutoPLANT. Support can use the System Doctor to quickly find the data needed to resolve system problems. System Doctor displays a comprehensive view of hardware, system components, and AutoPLANT installation. The system information is organized into a navigation tree summary with four top-level nodes as shown below. AutoPLANT Products This node contains general information regarding the AutoPLANT products installed on your system. When you click on this node the following dialog displays. This dialog indicates whether or not to perform a registry scan before it displays the data. This is optional and may significantly increase the amount of time it takes the System Doctor to analyze the system. If the registry scan option is set, you can further clarify whether or not all files, or only the files with the listed extensions are scanned. This process compares installed AutoPLANT files with the files version stamped when the build was formed. A list of missing or corrupt files, unregistered DLLs or OCXs or ActiveX exes display if present. The Isogen branch contains all Isogen files currently found in ...\Common Files\Bentley Shared\Plant V8i\Isogen. MDAC Drivers This node contains Microsoft Data Access Component Driver information on your computer. Version 2.70 must be installed on your computer. You can save this information, or E-Mail his problem along this information to the support. The information will give the support enough knowledge about the user’s computer that can help them figure out the cause of problem. ODBC Drivers This node lists all ODBC drivers installed on your computer. This information is also very important, as AutoPLANT has a number of database related dependencies to maintain component information. This has become even more important with the integration of the Piping Object Model in AutoPLANT. System Information This node contains general information about the user's computer and the version of their operating system. This summary includes the name and type of system, the name of the Windows system directory, and statistics about physical and virtual memory.
