OpenPlant does not have any direct controls to if point clouds are loaded or not from reference files. The level the point could is on can be turned off using level manager. Another workflow would be to attach the point cloud to an empty model then reference the point cloud model to the current model being referenced in. This will allow you to turn off that reference with the point cloud.
