After trying on my VM it actually doesn´t require any other server role than Public to have this working. I wonder if this is related to connection permission. Does your SQL login "plantadm" have "GRANT" on "Permission to connect to Database Engine"? and "LOGIN" enabled? (you can find this in the Login Properties of "plantadm" under "status"
