Hello, I am learning Plant V8i, following the online Bentley training for Plant Design (Imperial), chapter 3, Specification Generator. I have completed the above chapter of training. I am evaluating the software to use for several upcoming "mechanical plant" type projects. I know our need for the software is to leverage the database to catalog specific components that are existing conditions and then provide our design that ties-into the existing system and catalog these proposed components for current and future projects. I believe, as the CAD designer, I would want somewhat generic components starting-out to build the plant with, and then eventually build specific specs/catalogs to address the existing and proposed conditions. I believe I should be able to "swap-out" generic components for specific ones, at different design stages. Does my workflow and understanding sound correct, to do what I am describing?
